Abstract:
Bayangou area of Inner Mongolia is located in Suolun Town-Huanggang Fe, Sn, Cu, Pb, Zn, Ag mineralization sub zone in the central-southern part of the Greater Khingan Mountains, and Ag-Pb-Zn polymetal deposits in Zhamuqin and Fuxingtun around this area were newly discovered, implying a great potential of further prospecting in this area. 1∶ 10 000 geological mapping and soil survey was conducted in Bayangou Pb-Zn deposit to reduce the prospecting target. Location and shape of ore bodies were delineated by IP intermediate gradient survey and IP sounding. The results show that ore body occurred in volcanic rocks and clastic rocks, controlled by volcanos, with the characteristics of low resistance and medium-high polarization. The drilling verification was carried out at the preferred locations where mineralized alteration geophysical and geochemical anomalies overlap. Eighty-three ore bodies were identified and the presumed resources of Pb+Zn were to be 3.10×10
4 t, indicating favorable mineral exploration results. The integrated geophysical and geochemical exploration method was summarized in the study area, which could provide references for ore prospecting.
